Hello,

We have a problem with our website. Im using https://themeforest.net/item/bumbleb-auto-parts-woocommerce-theme/44261640  and HUSKY - WooCommerce Products Filter Professional

From the weblogs it seems that there is continuous access from the meta crawler (facebook) but I believe there must be some plugin that has an error and is looping, see logs,  below

I don't know is you have seen this error before??

The problem happen often when I active the wpml.

all the plugins are updated on last versions.

Thank you for the detailed report and the log extract — it helped us identify the issue quickly.

After reviewing the logs we can confirm that HUSKY is not causing the problem. Here is what is actually happening.

Every 404 request in your logs is hitting a URL that starts with /sq/. That prefix is the WPML language code for Albanian (Shqip). WPML is generating or exposing Albanian-language versions of your brand taxonomy pages, for example /sq/brand/renault/, but those pages do not actually exist on your site, which is why they return 404. HUSKY is simply appending its normal filter parameters to those URLs — that part is correct behavior. The filter parameters are not causing the 404, the missing Albanian page is.

The heavy traffic you are seeing is the Meta crawler (Facebook, IP range 57.141.20.x) which discovered these URLs somewhere — most likely your sitemap or internal links — and is now crawling every possible filter combination on them. This is not a plugin loop, it is an external bot hammering pages that your WPML configuration is making discoverable but not actually serving.

To fix this you need to look at your WPML setup. If you are not actively using Albanian on your site, disable that language in WPML and the /sq/ URLs will stop being generated entirely. If you are using Albanian but the brand taxonomy is simply not translated yet, you need to either translate those pages in WPML or configure WPML to not expose untranslated taxonomy pages publicly.

As an immediate measure to stop the server load while you sort out WPML, you can add the following to your robots.txt to block the Meta crawler from these paths:

User-agent: meta-externalagent Disallow: /sq/

Activating WPML is what triggered the appearance of this issue, which is consistent with what you observed.

Thank you for the update. Could you please let us know if the issue is still occurring now that both WPML and HUSKY are active again? Did the robots.txt block for the Meta crawler help reduce the server load?

Hello,

I have done many tests, If Wpbingo Core (theme core plugin) and Husky plugin are deactived the website load well.

I have tested with hello elementor theme and husky plugin activated, its loads slow (theme core plugins deactivated)

Hello

Thank you for the thorough testing — this is very useful information.

Based on your last results we can see that the slowdown occurs when HUSKY is active together with the Wpbingo Core plugin (the theme's core plugin). You also confirmed it is slow with Hello Elementor and HUSKY active alone, which points to a general performance issue under load rather than a simple theme conflict.

However the key combination that triggers the problem is HUSKY plus Wpbingo Core. That conflict is outside of our area — it is something that needs to be investigated jointly between the Bumbleb theme support team and us, because Wpbingo Core is their plugin and we cannot control what it does to the WordPress frontend environment.

Our recommendation is to open a ticket with the Bumbleb theme support and show them exactly what you showed us — that deactivating their core plugin resolves the load issue. They will need to look at what Wpbingo Core is doing on the frontend that conflicts with HUSKY's filter requests. HUSKY is included and bundled with your Bumbleb theme, which means the theme authors have taken on the responsibility of supporting it within their environment. Any customizations or integrations they made on top of HUSKY are their side to handle. This case is a good example of exactly that kind of situation, so the Bumbleb support team is really the right place to resolve this.

I have done many tests,

When only Husky plugin is active and wpbingo core deactivated lets say is ok.

I have tested with wpml active, Husky plugin active and wpbingo core deactivated it cause continuous access from the meta crawler (facebook) s an error and is looping, see logs below:

So is something caused by Husky and WPML

Thank you for the continued testing. Let me explain clearly what is actually happening here, because the situation involves three separate parties and none of them are a bug in HUSKY.

Here is who is involved:

HUSKY generates filter URLs like /brand/renault/?filtering=1&filter_product_brand=314,384 when a visitor uses the filter widget. This is correct and expected behavior.

WPML takes those URLs and creates translated versions for every active language, including Albanian (/sq/brand/renault/?filtering=1...). If Albanian pages are enabled in WPML, these URLs become publicly accessible and discoverable.

The Meta crawler (Facebook, IP range 57.141.x.x) found these URLs, most likely through your sitemap or Open Graph tags, and is now crawling them aggressively and systematically. This is the actual source of your server load.

Now here is the important detail I want you to notice in your own logs. Look at how many brand IDs are combined in a single URL that the Meta crawler is requesting:

/sq/brand/renault/?filtering=1&filter_product_brand=314,384,371,321,374,320,372,318,383

That is 9 brand filters selected simultaneously. No real human visitor would ever do that. The Meta crawler is not following links that exist on your site. It is algorithmically generating every possible combination of your filter parameters and requesting each one. This is why the volume is so extreme and why it causes load.

Recommendations:

The most immediate fix is to block the Meta crawler from your filter pages in robots.txt:

User-agent: meta-externalagent Disallow: /sq/ Disallow: /?filtering= Disallow: /brand/

If you are not actively selling to Albanian-speaking customers, simply disable the Albanian language in WPML. This removes the /sq/ URLs entirely and eliminates that entire category of crawlable pages.

For a longer-term solution, add a noindex,nofollow meta tag to all pages that contain the filtering=1 parameter. This tells all crawlers that filter result pages should not be indexed or followed. Most SEO plugins like Yoast or Rank Math have a setting for this under their advanced URL parameters configuration.
