Quote from Natasha on November 2, 2020, 16:40I just recently started having a problem with the selected currency reverting to the default currency at checkout while the order is being processed via PayPal. The order will go through correctly with the correct currency, but PayPal will return an error "Validation error: PayPal currencies do not match (code CAD). Order status changed from Processing to On hold." The order will automatically be put On hold even though the customer has paid. The order too has the wrong currency (default currency instead of the selected currency, even though the customer paid in their selected currency).
My website has 2 currencies, USD & CAD. Default is USD. All prices in both currencies are fixed.
Here's a run-through of the problem:
- Customer from Canada has CAD currency, adds product to cart, and goes to checkout
- At checkout currency and totals are all correct.
- Customer pays via PayPal
- After payment, customers is brought back to an "order received page" with their order itemized, but the order currency has changed to USD (default currency) and the currency selector has switched to USD from CAD
- Payment sent via PayPal is in CAD (correct amount and correct currency)
- Customer order on wp dashboard status is "On hold", currency is wrong (it's in USD and should be CAD), and an error appears "Validation error: PayPal currencies do not match (code CAD). Order status changed from Processing to On hold."
Please help me fix this. I've been using your plugin for a year, never an issue until now. All my plugins, woocommerce, wordpress, and theme are all up to date. I have the PayPal error log if you would like it.

Quote from Natasha on November 3, 2020, 11:16Thanks for the reply. I put the admin access in the private data box. I don't have a test site, but if needed I can create one.
Looks like the problem is just with PayPal. A CAD transaction was made today using Stripe without an issue.
