Ive installed the plugin but before I purchase the pro I need to ask about its settings.

Our products have custom attributes, one of which is"Product Brand"

The widget is displaying all product brands throughout my store not just the ones relevant to the Category Im looking at.

https://thedooraccesscompany.co.uk/product-category/video-door-entry-paxton-access-control-2/door-video-entry/

Eg the above category has only 3 or 4 brands in it . . .

If a filter has zero results can it be hidden from the selectable widget choices ?

Cheers

Jason

I saw within your settings that this feature was a"Pro feature" so I purchased it, unfortunately when you switch it on it does hide zero results initially however when you use the filter as a user all the results come back with every item in the list despite it being on a category page.

Eg I go to :

https://thedooraccesscompany.co.uk/product-category/video-door-entry-paxton-access-control-2/door-video-entry/

and I select the product brand"Hikvision" the subsequent"swoof" results page shows every product in my website within the filtered widget !

I only want to deal with results relevant to the category Im viewing !!!

What happens if you have 100's of brands in your website . . . surely the results page doesnt show you 100's of non relevant brands ?

Can someone please assist as this is as far as I can tell the only support offered for this plugin

Hello Jason

Welcome on board. I just looked your site https://thedooraccesscompany.co.uk/product-category/video-door-entry-paxton-access-control-2/door-video-entry/ - and in the filter form no such brand as 'Hikvision' - wjat you need is enable dynanic recount and hide empty terms in the plugin settings, the reset all kinds of cache on your site. Now I see normal form and filtering works. With hide empty terms 100 brands will not be visible. If you need more help please  by links and screens describe what you want and if nessesary place in the private area of this ticket wp-admin acess with code purchase key

My website has 23 product categories.

  • Controllers/Panels
  • Readers
  • Cards & Fobs
  • Keypads
  • CCTV Cameras & Video Door Entry
    • Security CCTV Cameras
    • Door Video Entry
  • Audio Door Entry
  • RTE Egress Push Buttons
  • Break Glass Units
  • All Handles & Locking Devices
    • All Maglocks
    • All Handles
    • Solenoid Locks
    • Strikes & Locks
  • Cable & Power Management
    • Power Management
    • Alarm Cable / CQR Cable
    • Cat 6 Network Cables
  • Kits & Bundle Offers
  • Key Switches
  • Accessories
  • miscellaneous

Do I need 23 individual filters, as I don't want to show results from the whole site, just the results from a product specific category?
I need a way to display only the filtered results for the product category being viewed and not for everything on the website. How do I do this?

I also have a plugin that can display and hide widgets based on product categories, so I can generate a series of product filters and show and hide the relevant ones that way.
But the results from each filter need to be specific to the category being viewed.

Some Brands manufacture in different categories, e.g. Hikvision makes CCTV cameras and also video intercoms. However, if I have to create a brand for each category, then I will. Eg Hikvision CCTV, Hikvision Video Intercoms etc

Can you give me a tutorial / an example on how to restrict filtered results by product category?

Also Ive just noticed that when you get down to the product level . . . .  again, every single filter is showing  . . . .

https://thedooraccesscompany.co.uk/product/1-to-10-apartment-dahua-video-intercom-kit/

I am selling electrical products with hundreds of different attributes per product, and I'm looking to filter these attributes within their product category, which means filtering the results and filter options.

I can not be showing every filter option for every single product on the site as the page would be 2 miles long !!!! Surely I'm missing something here, please advise?

When I am at product level the customer shouldn't be seeing any filters, at all. Certainly not all the filters for every product on the website? I can see a page listing . . . Conditionals . . . and"Possible Keys"

by_author, by_backorder, by_featured, by_instock, by_onsales, by_price, by_rating, by_sku, by_text, pa_brand, pa_bundle-elements, pa_bundle-extras, pa_camera-features, pa_cctv-recorders, pa_colour, pa_dahua-apartment-bundles, pa_dahua-camera-colours, pa_features, pa_fob-card, pa_hard-drive-capacity, pa_hikvision-colours, pa_is-this-a-bundle, pa_key-fob-quantity, pa_keypad-attributes, pa_locks, pa_network-cable-roll-length, pa_outer-sheath-colour, pa_outer-sheath-material, pa_overall-screening, pa_paxlock-and-fobs-bundle, pa_paxlock-colour, pa_paxton-attributes, pa_power-supply-ampage, pa_pro-software, pa_product-category, pa_product-type, pa_proximity-card-colours, pa_push-buttons, pa_reaction-to-fire-class, pa_readers, pa_system, pa_total-megapixels, pa_total-number-of-cores, pa_unique-identifier-exists, pa_videx-4k, pa_videx-4k-gsm, product_brand, product_cat, product_tag, product_visibility, products_messenger, query_save, suppliers

!!! all the attributes on my products . . .

But how do I stop the filter from being shown at product level . . . or only show filters relevant to the product category????

Ultimately, I've looked through the plugin and its documentation and found it not to be user-friendly and certainly too complicated for my needs. I would therefore like a refund for the plugin. I will approach Theme forest which I purchased the plugin through for a refund.
