Hello, what type of subscription should I choose for a multisite installation? Is it possible to buy the plugin once for the whole multisite?

Hello

One domain - one license.

that is, you can use one simple license for several sites on a subdomain

Hello,

We're using the multisite feature of Wordpress to manage multiple websites on their own domains, which are not subdomains of each other. We have, for example, example.com and test.com on the same wordpress instance. Do we need multiple licences or a single one for this use case ?"

@claire1002

Hello

Thanks for your question — let me clarify how the licensing works.

WordPress Multisite network, installing the plugin counts as a single site installation. Therefore, the standard license is suitable for using the plugin on all sites within the same Multisite network. If the sites are on separate WordPress installations, each site will require a separate license, or you can purchase a developer license for unlimited use.

At the moment, there are only two types of licenses for our plugins:

  1. Standard License – this is for a single website (one WordPress installation, one domain).

  2. Developer License – this is intended for use as a part of another product, like a theme or SaaS system. It allows using the plugin on unlimited websites, but it comes with one important condition:

    1. Support is no longer provided by us for every installation.
      The responsibility for support shifts to the developer (you), since each site might have a unique setup, conflicts, or hosting environment.

So what you're asking about — something"in between" (in Envato market) — unfortunately doesn't exist as a licensing option. However, if you're comfortable taking care of your clients’ technical issues yourself, the Developer License could work well for you.
