Thank you, i tried this but it doesn't appear to be working,

Do i place the code at the bottom or top? and does it matter where i place it?

It does not appear to solve my problem,

The currency still seems to stay in the value of the base currency upon input.

Hello

Please describe this in more detail.

What input? On what page?  You  can  use  screenshots

If you mean the product edit / add page. Price can only be entered in the base currency
