Hi!
i keep getting errors in the logs about:
Deprecated: WOOBE::woobe_get_data_structure(): Implicitly marking parameter $request as nullable is deprecated, the explicit nullable type must be used instead in /home/xyz/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woo-bulk-editor/index.php on line 1628
Can this be fixed?

Hello

It looks like you are using an older premium version. Please update to the latest one — that method no longer exists in the current version of the plugin at all, so the notice will disappear after the update.

Two questions so I can be sure we are looking at the same thing:

  1. Which version of BEAR are you running? You can see it on the Plugins page in your WordPress admin.
  2. Which PHP version is your server running?

And one thing worth saying clearly: this is not an error, it is a deprecation notice. Nothing in the plugin is broken by it and nothing stops working. It only appears in your log because your server is configured to log deprecation messages. It comes from PHP 8.4, which started warning about a way of declaring optional parameters that older PHP versions accepted silently.

Place please actual purchase code of the plugin into the private area of the ticket:

Hi!

Thank you for quick reply! I use the free version of Bear it is Version 2.1.5 and WP is 7.1 and Woo is 11.0.1 and PHP is 8.4.

I'm sorry to say the error is still there.

Hello

Thanks for the details. One thing to clear up first: 2.1.5 is a version number from the premium line. The free build on wordpress.org has its own numbering and is on the 1.x line, so what you have installed is the premium plugin, and it is about a year old. The current version is 2.2.1.

So the answer stays the same: update, and this notice goes away. You can download the latest build here:

https://bulk-editor.com/downloads

Install it over the current one. Do not delete the plugin from the Plugins screen first, just overwrite the files or use the normal update.

One more thing, because this catches people out often. After you update, check the date on the log line before deciding it is still there. PHP error logs keep old entries, so the same message from last week sits in the file and looks like a fresh one. Either clear the log or look at the timestamp.

And to repeat what we said earlier: this is a deprecation notice from PHP 8.4, not an error. Nothing in the plugin is broken by it, nothing stops working, and it only appears because your server logs deprecation messages.

If the notice really does reappear with a fresh timestamp after the update, tell us and we will fix it in the code.
