Dear FOX Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with the FOX – Currency Switcher for WooCommerce plugin on my website.

  • My default currency is set to MXN (Peso mexicano).

  • On the currency switcher dropdown, MXN is selected by default as expected.

  • However, when visiting the site for the first time (especially in a new browser or incognito), the prices are shown in USD even though the dropdown shows MXN.

  • Because of this mismatch, it becomes impossible to switch back to MXN, since the plugin already thinks MXN is active — even though the prices are actually shown in USD.

I do not want to use any geolocation or regional auto-detection.
No matter where the visitor is coming from, the site should always start in MXN by default, and only switch to USD if the customer manually chooses it.

Currently, this behavior is inconsistent:

  • In some browsers the site starts in MXN, and in others it starts in USD.

  • If it starts in USD, switching back to MXN doesn’t work because the dropdown already shows MXN selected.

Could you please let me know how to fix this behavior, so the site always loads MXN as the default currency regardless of visitor location?

Most of the time, the site loads in USD by default, even though the default currency is set to MXN (Peso mexicano).

When you open this link for the first time (especially in a new browser or incognito), the page loads in USD, even though the currency dropdown shows MXN.

The currency dropdown is located at the bottom of the page (in the footer area). It shows Mexico (MXN $) as selected, but the prices are actually shown in USD.

After the page loads in USD, it becomes impossible to switch back to MXN, because the dropdown already shows MXN as selected and does not trigger any change.

This is exactly the behavior we need to fix — the site should always start in MXN by default, and only change to USD if the customer manually selects it.
