I have been a user of WOOCS (now FOX) for a long time, but lately we have been having some issues with it that is affecting our business.
In order to help find the solution I will be as transparent as possible.
Currently our tech stack is
- Kinsta (Edge Cache + CDN)
- WooCommerce
- WP Rocket
- ElementorProblem:
Currency does not always behave as it should depending on the Geolocation of the user.We are talking about Puerto Rico users seeing Mexican Pesos and European customers seeing Dollars.
You would think this is a problem from the Cache, Edge Cache or anything else, but we have a direct source that shows us that they are not the problem.
How do we know? Easy, we have created a Geolocation shortcode as part of our text, something like "Hey thanks for visiting from [localcountry]" and it works 100% of the times. With VPN, without VPN, Online Proxy Surfing, it always works.
Therefore my question is...if this small code can detect the country easily, why can't we get an accurate 100% rate of showing the correct currency to our customers?
Settings:
- Yes, Geolocate with Caching Support is activated
- Yes, we are using the latest version (updated on October 20th)
- Yes, "I am using cache plugin on my site" is activated
- From Kinsta we have excluded thisif ($http_cookie ~* "wp_woocommerce_session_") {set $skip_cache 1;}- Yes, we have disabled the "Enable caching for logged-in WordPress users‘ on WP Rocket-----------------
Now I am not saying it doesn't work, plugin works, but its not stable. Yes I understand border limitations, but that is probably 0.00001% of the customers, so is not even an issue.
Our customers don't even want to change currencies, they just want to pay in their own local currency.
How can we make this 99.9% accurate, just like the GEO IP Shortcode that we have that literally catches all of them 100%?
Thank you!
