Create OR search within Category but AND between Categories

Let's say I have 2 category groups and each group has multiple child category options within.
Parent category Painting Subject has subcategories Florals, Abstracts, Portraits
Additionally, parent category Painting Size has subcategories Small, Medium, Large
I need an OR function to affect the results within a particular category group and then an AND function between category groups. As an example:
If I select Florals and Abstracts from Painting Subject, I'd like this to be an OR function so all paintings that are categorized as Florals OR Abstracts would be displayed.
If I also select the Small category from parent category Painting Size, I'd like the results to be narrowed down so only Florals and Abstracts that are also Small in size will display. This would be and AND function between entries in Painting Subject and entries in Painting Size.
Is this possible using this plugin?
