Hi

WOOF - WooCommerce Products Filter seems to causing products to be excluded from Product Archive listings.

The WOOF Products Filter count lists the right number of products in a particular Product Category (or Brand) but only a selection of these products are then displaying in the Product Archive listings.

For example: https://m2m-direct.co.uk/brand/11741-intel/

The Brand Category has 118 Intel Products. 46 are published and visible, 14 of the published products have stock. However only 5 products display in the product archive when WOOF is enabled.

When WOOF is disabled, all 14 products show correctly in the Product Archive listings.

The products are all published, visible and have stock. They are in the correct product categories. There are no duplicates and it is not a cached memory issue.

Though not showing in archive listings, the ‘missing’ products can be viewed by using their Slug in browser. I’ve compared the product meta data for those listing and those absent. I can’t see anything that explains the behavior.

The only pattern is that enabling / disabling WOOF results in the incorrect / correct display of all products in product archive.

Many thanks  Jon

Hello

It is very strange if the plugin does not do a search query, it does not affect the display of products in any way

You  use  old  version  of  the   plugin! Please  update  it - https://products-filter.com/how-to-make-auto-update-for-wordpress-plugins-and-themes-bought-on-envato/

and  do  test

If  no  luck - please write  me  AND  add  FTP access

Hi Pablo

Thanks for your response. I updated to the latest version of WOOF. This has resolved some of the problems but sadly not all.

1              RESOLVED

The display of products when WOOF search is not activated. Eg https://m2m-direct.co.uk/brand/11741-intel/ now displays the correct number of products in the Product Archive listing.

However

2              PERSISTENT PROBLEMS

The WOOF Filtered search results are still bringing back random data.

Example 1

https://m2m-direct.co.uk/product-category/flash-media/usb-flash-drives/

There are 15 published, visible products in Flash Media > USB Flash Drives Brand = Lexar.   As of Friday PM, 2 of these have no stock.

WOOF’s pre filter number count correctly ID’s there are 15 Lexar products but when filtered by Lexar only 14 display. This product (published, visible and with stock) is not displayed in list

https://m2m-direct.co.uk/product/ljdf35-32gbeu-32gb-lexar-jumpdrive-f35-fingerprint-usb-3-0-flash-drive/

I can see no reason for this in the product meta.

Example 2

https://m2m-direct.co.uk/product-category/solid-state-drives/

If I look at the pre filter WOOF count for Brand = Crucial, I see 14 products. However when I run the filter only 3 products are listed.

The SKU’s of the 11 Crucial published, visible products with stock in the SSD Product Category, (that can be successfully searched by using Advanced Woo Search) that do not list on a WOOF filter are itemized below:

  1. SSD-CT250MX500SSD1
  2. SSD-CT500MX500SSD1
  3. SSD-CT1000MX500SSD1
  4. SSD-CT2000MX500SSD1
  5. SSD-CT500MX500SSD4
  6. SSD-CT120BX500SSD1
  7. SSD-CT240BX500SSD1
  8. SSD-CT480BX500SSD1
  9. SSD-CT500P1SSD8
  10. SSD-CT1000P1SSD8
  11. SSD-CT960BX500SSD1

The requested FTP account details have been added to the Private Data section

Thanks and regards

Jonathan

Hello Jonathan

Example 1:

I  did   test - https://c2n.me/45WGxdj  - But I cannot repeat this error. Everything seems to work correctly

Example 2:

Please  check  these  options - https://c2n.me/45WPSr7.png - Products must contain this category - https://c2n.me/45WQb8u.png

Hi Pablo

Thanks for the feedback.

Re Example 2, ...not sure your suggested fix matches the evidence.

  1. Taking the example of the product you used in the above png's (SKU=CT500MX500SSD1), the WooCom Product Category hierarchy is 'Solid State Drives > Client > 2.5'' view screen grab here. .

In WC database, a subcategory product is automatically included in the parent category.   Are you saying that WOOF does not work the same way?

  2. In your response you say 'Products must contain this (e.g parent) category'.  If - by this -  you mean a product needs to be in the parent category to feature, then using WOOF across the site this is not the case.  All 1828 products in the database are in sub-categories.  None are in Parent categories.  Yet products are being shown in the WOOF filter for filtering at parent category level.

Just one example to illustrate this:

    1. https://m2m-direct.co.uk/product-category/memory-modules WOOF shows G.SKILL = 6 products. IMAGE 1.
    2. One of those 6 G.Skill product as an example  from those 6 (SKU = F2-5400PHU1-1GBNT) IMAGE 2
    3.  This has a Prod Cat of 'Memory Modules > Desktop > DDR2' .  The same as the product (CT500MX500SSD1) you used in your response above. IMAGE 3

SUMMARY

WOOF is displaying sub category products at parent category level (as I'd expect)  but the results only include some products and incorrectly exclude others. To provide a further example, the Memory Modules >G.Skill search in 3.2 above identifies 6 G.Skill products.  However, in the WooCommerce Product database there are 21 Memory Modules >G.Skill products of which only 4 products have stock.

I look forward to feedback and fix suggestions on the above.

In addition, as a separate issue, the WooCommerce 'Out of stock visibility' inventory setting is set to 'Hide out of stock items from the catalog'.  However, WOOF is still showing products with no stock.  How these can be pre-excluded from the pre filter search counts and post filter results (e.g. without having to use the 'in stock' check box).

Many thanks  Jon

Hello Jon

In WC database, a subcategory product is automatically included in the parent category. - It doesn’t work like that .  Please  disable  my  plugin  and  try  this  link https://m2m-direct.co.uk/product-category/solid-state-drives/?product_brand=crucial   - and you will see the result

(e.g. without having to use the 'in stock' check box).  - Check option please - https://c2n.me/45XGJLF.png (for simply  products)   AND  read  this   - https://products-filter.com/manipulate-search-data-options/
