Way to variably change variations SKU?

That's a shame. What is the best way to remove a letter from SKU then? I set up a bulk edit to replace this letter with nothing (replace to text option is empty) but only the first variation is edited and the rest stay the same.

When replace to text option is set to space " ", then it works but I'm left with a space which I don't want.
