Unable to get filters to change anything

We are using the free version along with Elementor and no matter what settings I use, the product list simply doesn't update. Even when everything is turned off so that the user clicks on"filter" before anything happens, the loading message appears upon every filter option click. When I try to turn on the options so it automatically filters, it still does nothing. It simply shows the loading message.

I am using Code Snippets to put the fix for Elementor in place as you instructed - https://wordpress.org/plugins/code-snippets/
However, this has had no effect.
I would like to provide you with links and access details so you can take a deeper look, but the site currently sits behind a privacy password as it's under development. Thanks for your reply. Sadly, this isn't the solution we need. We managed to get it this far, however we would like the filter to apply filtering automatically, not for the user to have to click on the filter button.
Also, the confusing bit for users as can be seen in your test clip is as soon as you click on an option, the word"Loading" appears. Users will expect the product list to update, but they do not see that happening, especially if the filter option is above the fold and the button below it.
The ideal solution is that filtering happens automatically, but this doesn't happen at the moment.

As mentioned I have tried that, and to confirm I have the setting disabled. There is absolutely no change in the output with the filters still not applying automatically.
I have watched the video. I watched it when first trying to put the filters in place. Is there a time-stamp you would recommend?
