Hi,

I have translated several words in the index.php file.
I would like to put the index.php file in the child theme to prevent it from being overwritten during an update.
So I put it as you can see here :
https://ibb.co/0nNfTHZ
But no change.
What is the problem / solution ?

Secondly

I noticed that the theme I use has the same filter as woof, look here: https://ibb.co/8Nrmy4L
Is it possible to remove the woof filter or make it appear only on mobile?

Thank you.

Hello

1 Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. To translate text, use the standard method

2  if  you mean  this - https://c2n.me/4ghinJw.jpg - to hide it - https://share.pluginus.net/image/i20220731201005.png

Hi,

So with each new update, I have to retranslate the same words that are in index.php?

Hello

I mean that you should use special tools for it, for example most popular is https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/ , read please this: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/updates-and-loco-translate/ for clarifying

index.php is not possible to override, as it functional file, possible to override only 'view' files https://products-filter.com/can-i-override-any-extension-view-file-for-my-site-needs

Hi,

I use loco translate for several of my plugins.

I know how it works, the problem is that some of the words your plugin uses are not in the po file.

Please look here: https://ibb.co/hZxFtwC

I hope you understood me.

Hello

the problem is that some of the words your plugin uses are not in the po file. - OK! You can rescan the plugin and it will add these strings to the .po file

As you can see strings are prepared for translation

Hi,

Or I don't understand how loco translate works or there is a problem with the woof plugin.

With the German language from the author, (without any modification) I have 751 strings as you can see here: https://ibb.co/1XHMcmJ

But if I do a synchronization here is the result: https://ibb.co/6BNHbGd

Where is the problem ?

Thank you.

Hello

I think that the problem is in this loco translate plugin, it seems that there is no way to process such a number of files.

Please try this tool - https://www.icanlocalize.com/tools/php_scanner

Hi,
Honestly I didn't understand how this tool works.
What .php file is it referring to?

Hello

You can download the file here - https://drive.google.com/file/d/18CxfYxF99ldFqovAwcgN6HIW7OEse01M/view?usp=sharing

Hi,

I have downloaded the .po translation file.

As you can see, there are now 3 different files.

https://ibb.co/0m2JV86

The original has 676 strings.
After synchronization, 555 strings.
With the new .po file 864 strings.

I took the opportunity to synchronize several plugins to see if the same problem existed.

All plugins after synchronization, either added strings or stayed as is, but none removed strings by hundreds.

If you can reconsider the problem on your side.

I will open a ticket on the loco translate forum of wordpress, to report the problem.

Thank you.

Hello Walid

Thank you for cooperation. All strings wrapped into __, _e, esc_html__, esc_html_e

I think issue can be with loco settings, read please https://wordpress.org/support/topic/default-skip-php-files-larger-than-100k-create-trouble-for-beginner/ + https://hungpd.name/translating-your-theme-with-loco-translate-plugin/

Hi,

This is the answer from the author of the plugin:

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/problem-with-the-synchronization/

Hello

Did you replace the file( woocommerce-products-filter\languages\) I gave you?  - https://c2n.me/4gpSlYw.png

Hi,

I did a test with the file you sent me, but I decided to use a translation copy already available with the plugin for simplicity.

I have very few words to translate so it's not a problem.

Consider this issue resolved.

Thank you.

Hello

Ok! Welcome;)
