I bought the plugin but am having trouble getting it to work. I'm trying to configure it to filter step by step for each category using conditional logic. Essentially, I want each step to correspond to a single category. Is this achievable?

I think your suggestion is not what I am looking for.
There is no CPT. Every produkt has multiple categories. I need for every category one step, so Step 1: Category1, Step2: Category2, ans so on.
How can I manage this?

I need category labels (or radio) in every step. Is it possible to achieve this, or do I need custom taxonomies for this?
I could set this up with custom taxonomies:
