Hi there,
our shop is growing. We have 5000 variations meanwhile, and most of them have approx 20 custom attributes/fields. The reaction latency of bear is horrible slow meanwhile lets say 5 sec for a search of 20 products in category"boot" with color"red".
The SQL query itself is bullet-fast. So where is the time lost?
This is essential question for us! Our staff is asking me for alternatives.

Just made a benchmark:
Directly querying the WordPress database in PMA: Showing rows 0 - 24 (1790 total, Query took 0.0244 seconds.)
SELECT * FROM wp_posts WHERE post_type = 'product' OR post_type = 'product_variation' AND post_status = 'publish' AND ID IN (SELECT post_id FROM wp_postmeta WHERE meta_key = 'Color32' AND meta_value = '#000000') ORDER BY post_title;
In Bear: 5 - 10 sec. for a first load, and 3,5 sec for Alt+S

It looks like most of the time is spent on drawing taxonomies. Do you have many taxonomy terms?
How much is many? Probably 2-4 categories and averaged 4 Tags per produkt + 10-20 custom attributes per variation.
Not that much i think.
