Show number of categories instead of products

Hi,
Currently my productfilter is showing how many products are active in a main category.
For example:
Country (152)
In the main category 'Country', there are 16 countries in this main category.
I want to show the filter like this: Country (16). So that it shows the number of subcategories instead of the number of products.

Unfortunately the plugin does not have this feature.
