Selecting multiple categories at one time?

Hi there,
I am trying to configure this plugin so that multiple child categories under their associated 'parents' may be selected at one time - for example, select the dormancy of a plant as well as its country of origin:
However, if"United States" is selected, I am now only able to see the"Origin" parent category and"United States", instead of being able to select multiple subcategories to narrow my search:
Under our"Structure" tab in the Options, we have only selected to filter by Product Categories and the"AND" option is selected for it."Show Count" and"Dynamic Recount" are both turned on in"Options". Is there anything else we can try to achieve the desired result?
