Search function doesn't work if WooCommerce shortcode is on the page

I'm using the search function on the top of the page as part of the header. When I add WooCommerce shortcode to display best sellers and new products to the home page, the search function stops working. There are no search results, and I'm not redirected to a search result page. If I remove the shortcode it works again.
