Redirect when a search criteria is removed

When performing the initial search, the Search Results page that we have set (Elementor template with condition set to search results) is used,
and there are filter criteria for category, and a price slider, in addition to the text field:
As soon as I add any filter, such as by selecting a category, it redirects to another page with swoof in the URL. I notice that it removes the price slider and other filter fields that I had selected; and I also have a custom function to highlight the search terms, which is not being applied to this swoof page, although it highlights on the original search results page.
Is there a way to have it stay on our Search Results page? I had searched some of the other questions and turned off the SEO links, that did not work.
We will need to purchase the professional version to access the hierarchy dropdown for category filtering, but there's no point in doing so if I can't fix this basic step first.

Our filter does not redirect to the search page (template).

What plugin version number are you using?
There is not a third-party search plugin. There is only wordpress built-in search functionality, which shouldn't in any way redirect to a URL with swoof in it... right?
Plugin Version 1.3.4.3 (should be most recent, I added it for testing only last week)
Example, URL (search result page) https://staging.cornellpubs.com/?s=winchester+model+77
if you make a change to filter the results, such as the dropdown category to select Winchester, 0r change the price range, it then redirects to a new page (such as https://staging.cornellpubs.com/?swoof=1&woof_text=winchester%20model%2077&min_price=0&max_price=35) instead of staying on the same search result page. That page doesn't provide results in an order that makes sense (ie the product i'm looking for is at the bottom, but given the parameters should be first by relevance) and it removes the highlighting that I have added.

search template)
it then redirects to a new page (such as https://staging.cornellpubs.com/?swoof=1&woof_text=winchester%20model%2077&min_price=0&max_price=35) - the page does not change (no redirection).the page does not change (no redirect), the template changes to the current one (shop template). Sorting on the page according to the shop template settings
