Product search not working with SKU

So I'm wanting to use the search bar on our home page and also along with the filter on products page, but when you search by product code it's not working.
I think I have the right settings set up but I can provide log in details so hopefully you can check.

Since changing the setting to only show relevant filters on each category page, our search is now not working for searching product codes. Not sure why?

Can you describe in more detail what I should do to get the error?
I've discovered that the search won't work with codes that are parent and variants. For example, if you search for this code SFD3065, it works. But if you search for a product that has variants/search for the variatn code, it doesn't work. Use this code for example: SD13205

Have tried to create a token twice now but is coming up with these error messages when pasting it in Envato Market area:
Incorrect token permissions, please generate another token or fix the permissions on the existing token.
Please ensure only the following permissions are enabled:
- View and search Envato sites
- Download your purchased items
- List purchases you've made
Additional Error Details:
Found too many permissions on token..

Also, we would want one search box to be able to search for both product code and keywords

It's also saying that the plug in we have installed is the latest version -you are using an outdated version of the plugin
Ok, but why does it allow you to add this option to Search by text:"+SKU Activates the ability to search by SKU in the same text-input"
Even when we use the search by SKU code search, it doesn't work
hi yes this works, but only if you're searching for a product that is in the category you are on. If you went into a different category for instance 'recycling bins' and searched for the same code, it won't bring it up.

Ok well this plug in doesn't work for us then as we would need it to be able to search for all products, Is there not a search area where you can search for all products no matter what category you're in? Seems a bit strange if we can't do that.
