Hello,

The below parent category has no children, but the category dropdown is still showing (I assume because some of the products in said category are also assigned to others).

https://testing.adelesapothecary.com/product-category/make-up/

Ideally, if I'm on any product category, the category dropdown only shows the child categories. Is this possible?

Thanks.

Hello

Yes, this is how it works if dynamic recalculation is enabled and the filter is on the standard category page (archive)

Hi,

So, the widget is on the default cat page, and I've tried switching between"No" and"Yes" for"Dynamic Recount", but it doesn't make a difference — there are 0 child cats of Makeup, but it shows random cats no matter what I change.

Thanks.

Hello

Try another theme, it looks like the current theme is using custom archive page templates

An  example:

https://demo.products-filter.com/shop/

https://demo.products-filter.com/product-category/clothing/

Hmmm. Showing as archive product cat for me. It is using woocommerce.php with an if is product cat statement though. So you think if I move the code to archive.php, that'll fix it? Your example is exactly what I'm after.

This page should generate the taxonomy queried_object.

Now it just shows all categories all of the time (using woocommerce/archive-product.php).

Then if I set dynamnic recount back to yes, it's the same as it was on woocommerce.php.

Hello

https://testing.adelesapothecary.com/product-category/make-up/  - this is still not a category page

For the filter to work correctly, you need to create a correct category page. How to create templates you better ask wordpress support

It was running off archive-product.php which is just WooCommerce default (called by taxonomy-product-cat.php), but fair enough.

Is the above page a custom template too then? If so, it is working as exptected, so even more confusing.

Hello

Please try using another (standard) theme.
