Quote from Victoria on February 5, 2024, 18:20Hi, have just bought and installed BEAR, hoping to use it to bulk delete old product images as described here: https://bulk-editor.com/how-to-remove-images-from-gallery-of-some-products
I was able to set up BEAR and enable the Gallery column.
Problem 1: the Gallery via BEAR does not list all the images uploaded to the product. I just tried editing a product that had 8 images uploaded and shown in the Media Library, but BEAR only showed two of them.
Problem 2: I was able to delete the images shown in BEAR, but they were not deleted from my product, or from the server.
My shop sells second-hand products, so I often want to re-use the product description page, but upload a new set of photos. I want to be able to use BEAR to clear out old product images from sold items to save on disk space while retaining the product descriptions.

A good example of both problems is this product : https://shopontheborderlands.co.uk/product/count-rostov-oakbound-studio-metal-miniature/
It showed in BEAR as having one image uploaded. I deleted that image using the BEAR gallery, and it now shows as having 0 associated images in BEAR.
However, if you view the product, the images are still there, and in the Media Library for that product, there are actually three images listed as having been uploaded to this product.
For most products so far as I can tell, BEAR reports the number of images correctly, and that is less important to me.
The really useful function that I bought this for is the ability to bulk delete images based on the stock status of the associated product. I would love that to work!
Done.

I tested this product and everything seems to work correctly
Try disabling caching plugins and do a test

Quote from Victoria on February 7, 2024, 14:52It's definitely not caching.
For example this product : https://shopontheborderlands.co.uk/product/pirate-borg-hardback-roleplaying-game/
I edited it in BEAR to delete all six images from the Gallery. BEAR now shows zero images for this product.
However, if I edit the actual product, (Edit interface, not public, so should not be affected by caching) the Media Library still shows all six images attached to the product.
Here is a link to one of those six images on our server, using the direct path (so not affected by the fact that we also use EWWW image optimiser with their CDN for public images). This image has not been deleted, even though BEAR says it has. I double-checked by looking in the directory using SFTP: this image, and all of its resized versions, are still there even though BEAR says they aren't.

I checked this product, the gallery is empty - https://c2n.me/4khvHsI.jpg
And of course my plugin does not remove images from media files. This plugin works with products and edits product fields and clears gallery field
