First Issue -
I created a checkbox filter using the smart-designer for the Categories in my store. So the categories have subcategories (that is, the structure has Parent categories and Child categories). So the main category might have a count of 5, meaning the subcategories under the main categories has products in them, but if a user clicks the main category - the filter loads and says no product. But if you collapse the main categories to show the subs/child categories they have products.
For example,
If you click on the checkbox for Computer & AV Cables 4, the filter will load and bring out No product. And once it loads, there won't be subcategories showing under the Computer & AV Cables checkbox.How can I resolve this, It should be like this - if you click the main category, and the filter loads, the new page should review the 4 products in that category. And at the sidebar widget - the filter will be collapsed and reveal the subcategories showing the count.
Second Issue -
Also, another issue is - if you toggle and uncollapse all the products and categories - it keeps going down and opening. Initially, it was meant to go hidden as the user toggles each, but I changed the css style to be visible also overflow-y: auto; z-index: 100; position: sticky; top: 0; max-height: calc(100vh - 150px); but it keeps making the widget sidebar to be tacky and long. Can the filer work in a way, when you toggle/open a category or product that has subs, and you click another category that has subs - the initial sub you clicked before will automatically toggle back to the + and closes the previously opened subs. I hope you get what I am trying to explain in both points.
And the Final thing, how can I set the filter to be able to select products from two categories? I mean by selecting two or more checkboxes.

Also, I am having another difficulty with the breadcrumb from the single-product page.
When the user is on the product page, and he/she clicks the category from the breadcrumb on the single product page, the URL shows correctly that the product falls under the child category and has other categories. But when the user clicks the last subcategory or main category..... the page just loads and takes the user to the shop page showing all products. The behavior should be - when a subcategory or main category is clicked from the single product page - the page should load to the shop page and then filter and show just the category/subcategory selected.

You mentioned that it has to be JS - please can you help fix it or elaborate on how to get it fixed.

The category filter still gives few issues that needs to be settled please. Please I need these three issues to be fixed.
1. If you expand a category and select a subcategory, once the page loads/filter - the categories collapse to only the main
categories so you cannot see what you have selected in the sub/child category.
The behavior should be like your example in https://demo-sd.products-filter.com/swoof/locations-islington/ so when the page loads, the parent category will expand and show the child category. https://imgur.com/a/a1RKcSS
Once you expand a category, then it should stay expanded until the filters are reset.
2. If a parent category is selected, and then you drill down to a subcategory, the higher category should unselect. Right now if you select a subcategory, it still shows the total of the largest category selected. If you select a subcategory, it should be narrowing the search result...
I've tried the AND, OR logic.... but still not getting what I want.

- Yes the AND logic works for selecting just one, but because of dynamic count option and hide empty terms makes it difficult.

Thanks for your responses. But I still haven't figured out the issues with the parent category showing all products in a selected child category.
If a parent category is selected, and then you select a sub-category, the parent category should unselect. Instead of showing all the products in the selected sub-category or the selected child category.
Right now if you select a child category after first selecting the parent category, it will show the total products from the parent category (which includes other child categories). It should just be the child category products to show
I've tried the AND logic... it doesn't work the way I want - because if you use AND logic and you select a parent category or sub-category - it will just show empty.
But I used the OR logic, and it shows - but what I want is when you select the parent category and later select a child category - the filter should only show products from that selected child category and not show the products from other child categories.

2. Also, if you select a parent category instead of the + (expansion) button, can the filter automatically open it to show all the sub-categories/child categories under that parent category?

- We checked, the parent category does not have any product - https://c2n.me/4iVIXg6.png - and of course, if the product is not marked throughout the taxonomy hierarchy, the"AND" logic will not work the way you want. an example: Search by: Computer & AV Cables AND Fiber Optic - this will give you zero products because you don't have a product that has those two categories at the same time. As a solution, you need to tag products throughout the category hierarchy

Hi admin, it seems you don't understand my issue. But thanks for your responses.
I've been able to fix the issue without the Autosubmit/AJAX function. But I also need to make it work when the filter works on Autosubmit/Ajax page load. So please can you show me where the exact PHP code that handles AJAX requests for url is located in your files? I hope you can really show me the file/code before you go for the weekend break.
