Missing thumbnail cannot be edited in bulk editor

My product images have become missing. I want to add them in the bulk editor, but there is nothing in the field to click on. I can change the thumbnail of an item that already has a thumbnail, but i cannot add one or edit a missing one.

Your first option will reset every thumbnail in the site?? I don't want that.

Your second screenshot doesn't make sense either. i don't have an"image" field and i can already see the Thumbnail field in the bulk editor. The issue is i cannot click it.
