Hello,

I am using the great plugin to switch currency that are displayed on a client website. The wish is to use the GEO IP function, but it does not seem to be working. I am using 'Europe' for Euro and 'United Stated' for USD.

Hello

Please try to indicate countries from Europe instead of 'Europe'

If no luck - Create a test page with  shortcodes - [wpcs_check_country] [wpcs_price value=10] - and drop me the link

Hi!

I did that. I do see the right country while using a VPN to check, but the euro is not changed to USD: https://share.cleanshot.com/x7nTTPny.

Also FYI, these are my settings regarding to the currency:

  • Welcome currency: EUR
  • Currency storage: session (also not working with transient, then this happens: https://share.cleanshot.com/KlbWPxgk)
  • I am using a cache plugin on my site: Yes (Litespeed)

The url I created is:
https://staging.tradecast.tv/en/test-page-eu-usd/

Hello

Looks like your server is only transmitting one IP. This happens, for example, if you use cloudflare

In this case, it is impossible to determine the user's location because there is no data. To be compatible with GeoIP you should change the server settings

Hey Pablo,

Thanks again for the quick reply. I am trying to seek support for this issue with my hosting party. However, please explain to me how the plugin is able to do see the country code, but it does not change the currency (regarding the one ip). Maybe it the answer is simple and I am missing something, but please elaborate :)

Hello

GeoIP  - works only for the user's first visit, then the plugin remembers the user's last currency

Aha! Thanks for the elaboration, because now I also understand why my hosting party told me it is working... They were a first visit and then it works. Could you please tell me what setting I need to look/ask for with my hosting party?

Hello

If the server settings send the correct user IP, no other settings are needed for this feature
