old gallery image will not be deleted! bug?

Hi,
i imported products thru a third party plugin. since the images are not ok i recreate the images for the FEATURED image and the GALLERY images.
when i REPLACE the GALLERY images with a new gallery image, usually that works fine. sometimes one of the OLD gallery image will be still visible in the WOOBE backend.
when i DELETE the GALLERY image, because i have just one featured image, then mostly the old thumbnail image will still stays optically in WOOBE, while when i open the product detail page, the OLD gallery image is not there anymore.
sometimes i want to delete the GALLERY image to be sure that it is really not there. then i have to delete it twice so they really disappear optically from WOOBE and i have the"IMAGES (0)" BUTTON.
problem is that i sometimes dont know if the GALLERY image is really gone or if it will be visible in the prodect detail on the front end or not. that is confusing.
probably that is a bug. maybe you can check up on this. thanks a lot
