Filters Reverting to Shop

Hi,
I've got my filters set up as I want, but when on a product category (or sub category), when you perform a search, it seems to always revert back to the shop page.
For example, if you go here, https://industrialsuppliesni.dhdstaging.com/product-category/ppe-uniform-clothing/clothing-and-workwear/, and filter by"Childrenswear", you'll see my"Category" filters all change back ot the top level ones which would be present on shop.
How can I prevent this?
Also, the"x" inside each active filter doesn't do anything apart from set itself to display none.

It's just the tags not working now. So if I apply a filter, the"Clear All" button works, but individual tag clear buttons do not.
