Filter not working properly after update

I updated recently to the latest version. Whenever I filter on any criteria, it works as expected. But then when I go to page 2 of results, the filtering is lost again. Same is true for when activating"variations". I lose all filter properties and have to filter again. Also the filtering is much slower than the previous version (2.1.1).
