disable empty categories

in our website we made product afwerking, so its some kind of categories with options in it. We now have options like metal, wood etc. but how can we manage to only shows the once that are filled and not show the empty options.
also a second question. de lounging, dining etc are all seperated product categories. in this categories je only see products that belong to those categories. But the hard part here is that we have wood products in let say lounging but also in dining. How can we manage this to use the filter only for that specific categorie. So when we click on wood in the dining area, that we only see wooden dining products and not also the wooden lounging products.
Hope you can understand my question a bit.

ahh i see, but that is a premium function i see. Is it possible to test it out for a couple of days or get a refund if its not what we need?
Unfortunately no.
But the filter elements with zero counter will be hidden in the paid version.
This is described in the documentation. And if it doesn't work and we can't fix it - you can request the refund
