Disable Animation on Label Click

We are using CSS to style the product filters to make a horizontal menu. When you click the label to expand the options, there is a short animation of the dropdown opening. We'd like to remove that entirely and just have the label click switch the option visibility on and off with no animation or delay.
Is there an option available for this, or something simple we can do to disable this animation?
