Custom currency symbols

Hi,
I have added three Custom currency symbols and i have applied those symbols for different countries. But when they browse the website from different locations it is not getting updated. Still it is showing $ symbol only. But the good thing i see is if i use the existing symbols it is showing up but for the customized it is not.
For example canada i used the existing one as c$ it worked. But i created a customize one as CA$ it did not work.
Need some help on this.
