Colour attribute displays the default colour and not the selected colour attribute

Colour attribute was selected - Purple
Result: Products that contain colour purple as an attribute are displayed.
I want the purple colour image to be displayed and not the default colour. So if purple is selected then all purple product image must be displayed.
Currently it displays these products but the default colour which is not purple. You will see the result in the link, some of these products are not purple, but if you open/click the product only then can you click to see the purple image...
I want the customer to see the purple product image...

I have made this change and cleared the cache. There is no difference as it still displays default colour variation.

Take for example this product - https://wildmongoo.co.za/product/pearl-stacker/
It displays the Black COLOUR variation instead of the purple.
The PURPLE variation has a size S,M,L - Yet if you select a size and the colour purple it still displays the black colour image.

My client insists on this to work. I did check pre sale that your plugin works with Avada theme so I'm hopeful still

As a result, the filter cannot override standard images because they are not in the template
