Changing The Search Icon And Search Products by vendors/Authors?

Hi there,

1-I would like to ask if there is a way to change the filters icon on top of the products list in the shop page. The one in blue that tops the product catalogue in the shop page

2-Is there a way to let customers search by author/vendor. I have a multi-vendor store and would like customers to search products by brand. Vendors in my site are usually linked to each product published by them as the author of it. So If I can use the author filter to let customers search by it, it's gonna help a lot.

There is a search by author option under the filters' list in the documentation (video tutorial), which I can't manage to locate in the version I downloaded.

Please advise.
