Change appearance of color when a color is selected

I saw an answer to my first question on the WordPress forum but it was from six years ago, so I'd like confirmation if it is still true. When a color is selected, it would be nice if the user got some feedback that they actually did something - such as adding a checkmark or X in the color area like on this Shopify site
Can your software do this now? It's not very intuitive, to have the color selected but not show any indication of being selected. The user is going to think they didn't do anything, and may not see the 'filter' tool (would like the ability to select more than one color, so we have automatic filtering disabled for the time being.)
