Category pages behaving like main shop page

My main shop page is working correctly, however, on a category or subcategory page, it now lists all products instead of just the products within that category.
Here is the main shop page that is working correctly: https://capecodformals.com/shop/
And here is a category page where it is showing all products instead of just the products within that category (just an example - this is happening on all category pages): https://capecodformals.com/product-category/pageant/
It is as is all category pages are behaving like the main shop page.
I currently have marked"Yes" to"Disable swoof influence." Before when this was set to"no," the category pages listed the products correctly but clicking any filter led to a 404 error. So marking yes resolved that error, but seems to have created this new one.
Grateful for any support you can provide!
I reverted the site to a version without the filter at the client's request but still curious how I can get this working correctly!

Looks like this theme has a custom archive template. Perhaps for this reason there is no global object of the current term
