I have a few functionality requirements related to your filtering plugin that I'm struggling with.
Our primary use of the plugin is for category filtration. However, I would like the filter to behave differently when selecting child categories. Specifically, when a child category is selected, its parent category should automatically be deselected.
For example:
- If I select"Men's Clothing" (a parent category) and then select"T-Shirts" (a child category), the filter currently still keeps"Men's Clothing" selected, which makes the child selection redundant.
- Instead, I want"Men's Clothing" to be deselected when I select"T-Shirts," so that the filter only shows results for"T-Shirts" (along with any other selected categories).
Is this functionality possible?

Unfortunately the plugin does not have such a feature.

With"Logic of Filtering" set to AND the filter selections disappear completely.
Some categories are now empty where products should be showing.

Please check that the entire category hierarchy chain is marked for the product.

There is only one category assigned to each product not the entire hierarchy, this may be a limitation of our system that imports product data from an externally managed source.
I've selected the entire hierarchy for one product as a test and it now shows when the parent category is selected but no other categories are visible.

but no other categories are visible. - Yes, because the filter sees only one product that fits this condition - High Pressure Cleaners AND Cold Water Electric
I can likely get the entire hierarchy assigned to each product.
I think the OR functionality was more suitable for our needs.
Given our product range and your knowledge of the filtering plugin, what would our most user friendly / optimal setup be?
So far I haven't found a way to make the filtration feel intuitive and easy to use.
Are you able to use the details in private data and have a closer look? please make whatever changes or suggestions you see fit to the filtering plugin. Just keep in mind that product information is pulled from an external system but if we need to make changes to the products let me know.
