Hi there,

I've re-purchased your product filter because i've been told it could support what i'm trying to achieve. I've been working on a solution for close to 2 years, believe it or not. :)

I've documented everything that i'm trying to achieve in my blog here: https://everythingvirtual.ca/woocommerce-car-parts-filter-for-make-model-year

I want to know, how to I setup the make model year attributes? Do I simply create a custom taxonomy with ACF and build it like this:

  • AUDI
    • A4
      • 2008
      • 2009
    • A5
      • 2010
      • 2011
    • A6
      • 2014
      • 2016

Or I can simply have them in a custom field with multiple attributes? like:

This is probably the best way since the models will always show the right make of the car, since you can't have AUDI > 335xi ;)

Thanks in advance!

Hello

You need this extension - https://products-filter.com/extencion/hierarchy-drop-down

Very important! This will only work with hierarchical taxonomy

Hi Pablo,

Thanks so much for replying.

So I build the custom attribute with CPT (Custom Post Type UI) but I will need to create all the years for every models for every make? Is there a better way to do this?

Pablo I don't mind paying for extra work, I repurchased your plugin and again to buy support, I just need help. Guidance really.

Thanks again,

Marc

Hello Marc

Unfortunately there is no other way for hierarchical dropdown. Should be all hierarchies in taxonomy

You can try with another extension - https://products-filter.com/extencion/woocommerce-step-by-step-filter  - In this case you need to create attributes. And with the help of this extension, filter in turn - https://demo.products-filter.com/step-by-step-filter-1
