Can't unselect categories from a multi drop-down

We have a multi drop-down selector in our HUSKY Product Filter for all of our categories. Our Wordpress site is on v6.8 using Elementor (limited to the nav bar on shopping pages) and HUSKY is updated, too.
Whenever you have a category selected in the HUSKY filter, clicking on the selected category does not un-select the category. Expected behavior is for the category to become un-selected and the page redirecting either to the shop-all page (if no other categories were selected) or redirecting to only show the categories that were selected but not un-selected (so if Treadmills and Ellipticals were selected and Treadmills was clicked again to un-select, then only Elliptical products would show).
Below is a screenshot of our filter, it obviously has custom styling applied to it but the styling has proven not to be the culprit (we removed all styling to test)

Just to cover the basics, this issue is present even when we remove custom styling, and it's an issue on both the desktop and mobile filter.
