I am having trouble editing fields that have more than 3 items already present. for example: I want to add an item to the upsells of a product. If there is less than 4 items, it works fine. If there are 4 or more items editing windows does not open. I, then must open the product page and edit there.
It looks like it breaks when text overflows the cell.
Here is the error Firefox detects when clicking such a cell:

Yes. The problem was that there were quotes in the title and they broke the attributes of the html elements.
