Hi

on Friday, April 14th I updated WooCommerce from 7.5.1 to 7.6.0.

Since then a problem sometimes occurs: When changing the values of an existing product and then saving it, the filter vanishes from the product. I can add the filter again, but when saving, sometimes another filter vanishes from this product. I assume the problem is connected to the update because of the temporal coincidence. This error did not (yet) occur when creating a new product.

Unfortunately this is urgent because our team has to create and edit about 5.000 products within the next days.

What can I do to solve this?

Thanks a lot

Update  the  plugin to latest  version - https://products-filter.com/how-to-make-auto-update-for-wordpress-plugins-and-themes-bought-on-envato

Hi Pablo

I pasted my envato purchase code already in the"Private Data for this Post" section.

My current version is 2.2.4.2 – is that not the latest version?

Thanks a lot

Uwe

Yes, I saw the version number you are using. Please update the plugin to the latest version (3.3.2)

Hi Pablo

Thanks a lot!

I installed the envato plugin and set it up with the token. Before I update please confirm: Can I update WOOF - WooCommerce Products Filter 2.2.4.2 to Husky 3.3.2 without loosing my data? That would be a desaster!

Thanks you for your help!

Oh, and will the UI be the same? We have a team of 15 volantaries for this non-profit site who are constantly working on this site! They need of course to find everything after the update …

Here is an article on how to update - https://products-filter.com/how-to-make-auto-update-for-wordpress-plugins-and-themes-bought-on-envato  - Shouldn't be a problem, but you're using a very old version so I recommend making a backup.

The main changes in settings are styles and new features have been added. A lot of settings have also moved to the advanced tab

Hi Pablo

I followed the instructions: I installed the token in the envato plugin, after saving it shows the Husky plugin. When I click on"Install" I get the error message:"Installationspaket nicht verfügbar." (installation package not available).

What should I do next?

Thanks a lot

Hello

you can write to envato plugin support

OR

Delete  the  old  version and  install  the  new  version.

The first method is a priority, but the second method will not delete the settings

Hi Pablo

Do you happen to have an email address of the envato plugin support? I couldn't find any …

thanks a lot!

PS: I read that PluginUs.Net is a Ukrainian company. Are you also located in Ukraine?

Hello Uwe

I think you can find support here - https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us

as I wrote above, you can simply replace the plugin (remove-install).

Yes, we are from Ukraine, but now our team is in different countries

Hi Pablo

So, I've done as you proposed, I replaced the plugin folder via FTP – works fine.

But now I'm back at square one: the initial problem that filters vanish after saving changes to a product.

How can I proceed to find the cause for that error?

thanks a lot

Uwe

Please  drop  me wp-admin access - https://share.pluginus.net/image/i20230222134241.png -> https://share.pluginus.net/image/i20230222134615.png

Describe in more detail what should I do to get the error(link to the product, what to change, where to check the result)

Clarifying questions:

https://c2n.me/4ilQmzR.png - how did you add the filter to the product page: custom code or shortcode [woof] or widget?

https://c2n.me/4ilQtT9.png - There is only one filter, you either added it or not

I wrote this so that we can understand each other better. Because I suspect that by filter you mean product data (attributes, categories, meta data, Tags) - It does not depend on my plugin. My plugin is a filter and searches for product data and cannot influence this data in any way

Hi Pablo

I talked to my client and she is going to prepare a step-by-step description on how to cause this error – and how to correct it when it occurred.

I will translate the description to English (from German). She will also provide screenshots. How can I send it with screenshots?

thanks a lot!

Hi Pablo

Here's the description about what happens:

For context this is a website about dogs in need brought into shelters. The website helps to mediate the dogs to new homes. It's a not-for-profit organization.

Woocommerce is used as the dog database. the"products" are the dogs.

To generate the problem:

  1. Please go to „product“ MUTZI: https://prodogromania.de/alle-hunde/mutzi/
  2. Got to „Produkt bearbeiten“ (Edit Product) – As you see the first attributes are „Verbindungsstatus“ and „Altersgruppe“
  3. Now (whether you have made changes or not), when you click on „update“, the first attribute „Verbindungsstatus" will vanish. If you click on „update“ again, the next attribute is gone.
  4. You can repair this by manually adding the attributes back to this product.

Please note this is the production site. 6 to 10 volunteers are constantly putting new dogs into the system (about 5.000 in the next week).

Please let me know if you have any further questions – and thank you very much for your help!

Best

Uwe

Hello  Uwe

Yes, that's how I described it - https://c2n.me/4imn76z.png - it has nothing to do with my plugin.

You should contact woocommerce support because it's an attribute problem

I checked the plugins on this site - there doesn't seem to be any plugins that can cause this error

also checked the server resource (everything is ok)

so at the moment it's better to write to woocommerce support
