Quote from Anghellic on July 25, 2020, 23:38I'm not sure if this is a setting somewhere that I am not seeing, or a customization (perhaps told of somewhere on here as well), but I went through the FAQs and can't find anything like it.
I have a site I am building that has a ton of Products, each with a category. Then there are subcategories for some, and even some subcategories to those as well. I've installed the WOOF Products Filter and, on the Products landing page (ie a page I built with the URL of /products which I then set to be the Shop page), I built a two-column layout (using Elementor), with the left column having the WOOF - WooCommerce Products Filter widget in it. The right column has a Archive Products widget (which is showing me a list of Product Categories and their corresponding image, 4-column grid in that section). So far, so good.
So, on this /products page, it shows the full list of Categories, complete with dropdowns for subcategories, and that's great. If I click on any of the items from WOOF on the left, it filters to those categories just as expected and intended. In fact, if I navigate to a subcategory, it even shows that menu open and active when it filters, too. Perfect.
However, if I instead click on an item on the right (which, again, is Categories and their images), this is where I have issues. One thing I notice is that the left WOOF menu is not sending me to the product category URL, but merely filtering (and adding filters to the URL in the address bar). I get that this is the basic function of the plugin so I am fine with that. However, the Product Category section on the right, when I click any of those, it does go to the Product Category page. I'm also fine with this behavior as well. Here's the problem:
- In interacting with the left WOOF filter sidebar, going to a parent category or a subcategory returns the same behavior: the WOOF filter retains the exact same look, only altering which link gets the "active" CSS designation and style change. Again, perfect.
- When interacting with the Product Categories on the left, and ending up on a product-category page instead, the WOOF sidebar changes to only show subcategories. This isn't so bad for the parent categories that actually have subcategories but, for any parent category that does not have them, this means that the entire left column is blank.
What I am hoping to do is retain the effect of #1, but I am not sure how. I know that it is possible, because I see that it works on the default page when using filters, and also on this other live site (observe its behavior as you click different categories and subcategories) I want to be able to go to a Product Category and see the same menu as on the /products (ie Shop) page. How do I make this happen?
I'll include links to show what I am talking about in the Private Data tab if that helps as well. Thanks so much in advance.

On the category(taxonomy) page, the filter shows only child categories(taxonomies)This is a very logical behavior. On the category page, you can show ONLY products that belong to the category OR child category. It makes sense to show only child categories( of the current category ), because clicking on any other category will always give zero products ) Because this is the filter and not the menu
