Hello everybody,

I hope you can help me.

Please have a look to this site:

https://elvins-shop.de/shop-filter/

When you click in the menu"shop" and then"Bücher" (german word for books) then only the books products are shown. That's fine.

But even though I have selected to hide empty categories, all the categories are shown on the right sidebar. When I click on something, then no product is shown, which makes sence, since I'm on the shop-site (made with divi) only for the category"Bücher". When I click on a child category of Bücher, then everything is fine. Another child category is not shown, since there is no product in it.

I would have expected, that the counting of the website category should deliver only the categories which are not empty.

Could you please tell me, what is wrong or is this a bug.

Thanks and best regards

Jörg from Germany

Hello Jörg

Paste your license key here - https://c2n.me/43SC6rb.png -> https://c2n.me/42HBIt7.png and  wp-admin access - https://c2n.me/42BAoj4.png

ok, done

BTW: I've just tested the shortcode:

[woof_products per_page=12 columns=4 is_ajax=1 taxonomies=product_cat:157]

Please have a look in the page with the name"test".

The result is that when you open the page, all the categories are shown, too. But when you click one without a result and then you go back, then all the categories are disapering and only the category 157 is shown, like it should.

I hope this helps you to find the problem.

Best regards
Jörg

and I still have problem with search by price. The bar is not adjusting depending on the filter result.

With the shortcode test page the search bar for price is adjusting. I think this belongs together ... maybe ;-)

Hello

I did  test - https://c2n.me/46Ziuaw.jpg - This is not a category page, this is a custom page. For the filter to determine the current category, it must be an archive page.

I've just tested the shortcode: - please  try  to  read  docs - https://products-filter.com/documentation/#section_3_2     In  this  case   to  show  the  filter use - [woof  taxonomies=product_cat:157]

I still have problem with search by price. -  Please disable  my  plugin  and  do test  with  native woo price filter

Thanks for your help.

I've change now all the pages using the shortcode. I like this very much, but still small problem.

Please have a look to this.

https://elvins-shop.de/shop-filter/shop-buecher/

This is the link for the books in our shop.

You see on the right side that still the category"Armbanduhr" (this is a watch) is displayed, even though a watch is not a book ;-)

Only when you click on Armbanduhr and you get the message that there is no produkt and then click off again Armanduhr --- then all the categories without a book (so they are empty) are hidden, like it should be.

Have you an idea for this who to solve this problem?

Best regards, Jörg

One more thing I could observe:

it works like I want when I have this in the browser address field:
https://elvins-shop.de/shop-filter/shop-buecher/?swoof=1&paged=1

But when I open the website the first time, I have only this:
https://elvins-shop.de/shop-filter/shop-buecher/?swoof=1

and this does not work.

What is the difference and how can I get the first link as default?

Best regards, Jörg

Hello Jörg

I already wrote it above.

this page of books (Bücher) is only for your logic.https://c2n.me/470FwEC.jpg - this is a custom page.  To make the filter understand the current category, use the  archive(category) page. OR  use shortcode where do you indicate the current category

sorry, but I've changed everything already. I now use shortcode. Please have a look again when you edit this page:

https://elvins-shop.de/shop-filter/shop-buecher/

you will see that I use this:

[woof_products per_page=9 columns=3 is_ajax=1 taxonomies=product_cat:157]

But it is still not working.

BTW: What do you mean with"archive(category) page" ?

Hello

You did the shortcode correctly, but it's still a custom page.

To filter understand that this page is a category it needs to do to get information.

For  custom  page: to  show the filter  in your case: [woof taxonomies=product_cat:157]

For archive(category) page - these pages have data about the current category and the filter automatically takes this into account

archive(category) page - these are pages that woocommerce(wordpress) automatically generates for displaying products(posts) in one category. Usually such a URL - http://your_site.com/product-category/clothing

ok, now I got it, but I'm wondering where can I get this kind of URLs? ...

when I type this URL:"https://elvins-shop.de/shop-filter/buecher"

then I get the message"no results"

Maybe the error is in the permalink settings? Here you can see the settings as picture

I've found it: https://elvins-shop.de/produkt-kategorie/buecher/

This works :-)

unfortunately you cannot put some text before the products are shown. This is why I tried to use divi to design a nice product side to special categories, including your filter ...
