How to make product categories and tags be filtered together

I'm setting up this plugin, but there seems to be an issue with filtering the products (categories and tags).
The products on the site have Product Categories and Product Tags assigned to them, and some or most of the products have both values. So, I'll try to explain what we want to achieve below:
If we have cat1, cat2, cat3, and tag1, tag2, tag3, for example, product1 has cat1,tag2. product2 has cat2, cat3, tag2. I set from the WOOF settings > Structure section the categories and tags as multi drop-downs. What I want is, when I choose cat1 from categories dropdown, in the tag drop-down, it should only show tag1, not all tags. Or, when I choose tag2 from tags drop-down, in the categories drop-down, it should show cat2 and cat3, not all categories. I hope you understood my idea.
I'd really appreciate your help regarding my question. Thanks.
