Hierarchy filter not working, custom post type issues

We had turbo mode activated on the site - after reading similar support tickets I found that the Hierarchy dropdowns does not work with turbo mode.
So I have deactivate the turbo mode and still no luck? I cleared the websites cache on domain, and hosting levels still the hierarchy drop downs does not work.
I then decided to can the whole idea of using the hierarchy drop downs but now the nested checkboxes also does not work with the custom post type I have created.
I really really want to use a drop down rather than a checkbox for this filtering. Can we achieve the same result or similar result with another setting and keep the turbo mode?
Then regards to my custom post type - I have sub children categories but it does not show at all?

I want to basically give 2 groups of results.
Group 1
Client selected green, and t-shirts with 100 grams of cotton.
Group 2
I want to show the client green, golf shirts also with 100 grams of cotton.
Can I have 2 results groups for one filtered query?
