Filter logic on child categories

1.I need to change filter logic on my website but Im not sure how to properly approach this.
I need to add"OR" logic on all categories and add"AND' logic on all child categories.
For example: user wants to sort products from main category"Shoes" and child category"sport shoes" but he also need to see main category"pants" in the same search result.
2.Is there any way to make main category automatically selected when user select child category?

I was able to fix first issue so this can be forgotten :)
But regarding the second question I think that I need to explain it a little more:
So I need the categories to work as following > If user selects parent category everything inside it should be shown (This is currently working as it should)
but if he selects a child element >> parent must be automatically checked and the only products that will be visible are those in the child category instead of parent + child = this make no sense as all other child elements are in the parent
so is it possible to add such function? Im totally okey to this with scripts.
