Quote from Casual Badger on April 18, 2020, 02:02Hi,
I purchased this filter in 2017, so I don't know the correct place to ask for support now -- I have emailed you on the address I have, also posted in Wordpress forums, and here... I apologize for multiple places, but I did not find this support page until after trying the other two places.
Please see staging area for my shop page here — https://insultme.staging.wpengine.com/shop/
You will see in the left sidebar I have added a new “Filter By” — so I now have two
1) Filter by product
2) Filter by category
How do I control which tags appear in each filter? Currently all tags are appearing in both filters. I need to change this so that only some tags appear in the “Filter by Product” and other tags appear in “Filter by Category”
Thank you so much — great plugin — even after all this time!
Katie

I think I understand what this means but I need you to clarify clearly for me that I'm understanding correctly please -- I've always had just the one filter for my shop – "Filter by product" category, then using Product Tags for each product category under the filter.
However -- I now need a second filter -- 1) filter by product type, AND 2) filter by product category.
You seem to be saying this isn't possible. I don't understand this because I see many websites with this functionality, it seems standard. Are you saying YES this is possible but NO -- WOOF product filter can't do this? If so... do you have a filter that CAN do this, or can you possibly recommend one?
You also requested that I "renew support" — but I hope you're not asking me to pay for an answer for a plugin I've already paid for, that I am only using on one live website... apologies if I am misunderstanding what you mean here.
Thanks,
Katie

I advise you to watch this video - https://products-filter.com/video-tutorials#video_beGT6p_look
You seem to be saying this isn't possible. - Yes! I do not understand the point. But you can display as many filters as you like in one section.(In the video you will see how to do it.)
but I hope you're not asking me to pay for an answer for a plugin I've already paid for - Yes, your support ended in 2017. At the moment, I can provide you only limited support. But this does not mean that there is no support, so do not rush to pay. Maybe we will solve your problem in this mode.

I have not been able to respond to your last reply until now, I've been sick.
I do understand that my support ended in 2017, and I am happy to pay for more support -- but first I need to know that the plugin can do what I need. I am still not clear about this from your last reply. Please see your previous response to me:
"Yes! I do not understand the point. But you can display as many filters as you like in one section. (In the video you will see how to do it.)"
I have no problem watching the video but it's 45 minutes long -- so before I spend the time to do this, please can you look at this simple website I have mocked up to show you my question:
Mockup -- snipboard.io/V4DFR6.jpg
- In the shop page sidebar, you can see 3 main filters– 1) product, 2) occasion, and 3) color
- Underneath each filter there are SUB-CATEGORIES -- this is very important.
- It appears to me that the way the WOOF plugin works with widgets... ONLY ONE MAIN CATEGORY is possible -- (I don't see in the video where it is possible to have more than one filter with subcategories, perhaps you can direct me to where this is?)
In my current shop --
- I have only ONE CATEGORY (filter) with sub-categories (tags), set up per your original instructions like this:
- WOOF widget -- snipboard.io/2EcKw4.jpg
- WOOF plugin settings -- snipboard.io/nVG84X.jpg
Again -- I AM HAPPY TO PAY FOR SUPPORT -- but I must know that the plugin is capable of doing what I need first.
I am sorry for the CAPS and red text... but it seems like I am not being heard or understood. I want to give you money. I do NOT want free support. But I do need to know first.
Thank you.

- update the plugin to the latest version - https://products-filter.com/how-to-make-auto-update-for-wordpress-plugins-and-themes-bought-on-envato/
- SUB-CATEGORIES AND main filters - I don't understand your definitions! wordrpess has taxonomies. Tag, category, attributes - these are all taxonomies. The category has a hierarchy - and may have child categories(SUB-CATEGORIES - https://c2n.me/47zlLcW.png) For this reason, I ask you to watch the video
- https://c2n.me/47zm2S1.png - if you check these checkboxes filters will appear (all in one widget) Demo - https://demo.products-filter.com/ if you want to create another filter just create any attribute or custom taxonomy - https://products-filter.com/create-custom-taxonomies-plugin/
If no luck - drop me wp-admin access

I apologize -- I know I am using the wrongs words to describe things, and it must be confusing.
I will look at everything that you sent. In the meantime -- please can you confirm simply... is it possible to have this example setup for 3 filters in a shop page sidebar? snipboard.io/V4DFR6.jpg -- yes or no?
Thank you so much for your patience,

Yes! (If these are different taxonomies)
Example in this case: https://c2n.me/47ArSpU.png - you can show five filters in one widget

Quote from Casual Badger on May 27, 2020, 02:34Hi Pablo,
I think I'm starting to understand you now about taxonomies – sorry I'm such a slow learner :-)
I purchased a new license with 12-months support – saved in "hidden data".
I'm going to work on this on my staging site – the credentials also in "hidden data". I'm hoping you can help me achieve what I need to do.
First – should I install the new WOOF plugin in place of the existing WOOF plugin, which is from 2017?
Second – please see my shop page: https://insultme.staging.wpengine.com/shop/
You can see I have one filter in the shop sidebar "Filter by Category" – (there are way too many categories, I will delete many of them).
All I need to do is add a second filter – "Filter by Product" (such as mug, t-shirt, pillow, etc). Please can you tell me how to do this?
Thank you,
Katie

Please delete the old version and install the new version(all settings will be saved )
watch this video - https://products-filter.com/video-tutorials#video_beGT6p_look
Create an attribute "Product" - This will automatically appear in the filter.

- deleted old and installed new version successfully
- created two new attributes:
- filter by product
- filter by category
- they are successfully visible in the shop sidebar here: https://insultme.staging.wpengine.com/shop/ -- but the checkboxes underneath are the same for each filter -- I don't understand how to fix this. They need to be different. It's taking the checkboxes from the "tags" that I originally set up in 2017. But I need to create new checkboxes, different for each filter.
- Please continue to be patient with me, I think we are close :-) -- imagine you are explaining this to a 5-year old...
Thank you again,
Katie

Quote from Casual Badger on May 27, 2020, 17:27Hi again Pablo,
Apologies for 2 messages – I have been trying to figure this out since writing earlier.
I created two new attributes – visible in shop sidebar here – https://insultme.staging.wpengine.com/shop/
Then I added "terms" to each attribute – snipboard.io/2biBOL.jpg
But if I go to a product, for example the one mug in my shop – I can't see where to apply the term "mug" to the product... so that it appears under the "filter by product" filter in the sidebar.
If it helps – settings > product filter > structure – snipboard.io/DUoev0.jpg
Thanks,
Katie
